The First Fundamental of Strength Training

For years coaches and peers would tell me “engage your core” or “squeeze your abs”. And for years I didn’t know what they meant, and I’m pretty sure they didn’t know what they meant either. Phrases like “it starts with your core” or “get tight” sound great but mean nothing unless we have a foundation of understanding of the First Fundamental of Strength Training.


The video below is the First Fundamental series we take our new athletes and clients through during our first sessions together. Every strength drill we do after going over this series will be a progression from this series.
